This is a beautifully written book about a topic that we as a society tend to avoid bringing into the light. As a mental health clinician and educator who has experienced childhood trauma, I am grateful for Juliana's willingness to speak from her heart about her difficult road to recovery. Her very personal and powerful story is expressed through deeply meaningful soul searching, courageous and creative movement forward during painful times, and an ongoing sense of optimism and love.

Juliana Rose Teal has given readers a true gift in her beautifully written memoir of healing and love. The details she captures, especially those about nature (plants, animals, birds, the sky and land) and the positive relationships in her life, suffuse even the darkest moments of her story with light and a sense of ultimate freedom and peace. I look forward to a sequel!

What an incredible and inspiring book! Juliana is such a gifted writer and her story is told from such a vulnerable and open viewpoint. You won’t be able to put it down. I appreciate the ways she continues to work on her past while building her new future, what an inspiration for all of us, no matter what your path looks like.

First, this book is so well written! But more importantly, it’s truly inspiring. It shares stories of hardship (not too graphic though) and stories of succeeding and prevailing despite those circumstances. It was an excellent read!

I loved this book from start to finish. A very compelling read, Juliana Rose Teal is a fabulous storyteller. Highly recommend.
